深い精神性と真摯な姿勢が織りなす布の世界
見る人の心を穏やかに癒してくれる三日月の柔らかな明かり。
その明るさは0.01 lux。「視覚的には捉えきれないが、確かに存在し、
誰かの心を動かすもの」。作家の研ぎ澄まされた感性と技で、
その存在の創造を試みた美しい布「0.01」をご紹介します。
山西氏が織り上げるリネン糸の布には「糸が本来持つ強さ、秘めた力や
美しさ」のメッセージが静かに深く、織の隅々にこめられています。
自身の感性の魂と糸とが呼応し、対話し描かれる織の繊細な表情には
作家の布への真摯な想い、姿勢、愛情が溢れています。
■山西盛隆
1973年滋賀県生まれ伝統工芸士。
大学卒業後、サラリーマンを経て2001年、家業である山西整経入社。
伝統工芸士 大西實氏に師事し、 近江上布の手織りをはじめ、2016年
伝統工芸士となる。現在滋賀県東近江市能登川町にて整経業※を営み
ながら、伝統工芸士として独自の世界観を布に表現し活動している。
Lexus New Takumi Project 2017年度・滋賀県の匠に選出された。

Looking at soft brightness of the crescent moon, we feel healed.
Its illuminance is 0.01 lux. It is invisible, yet certainly exists and
moves our soul. The outstanding sensibility and skill of the artist
made it possible to create the beautiful “0.01” textiles which reflect
what he had pursued passionately.
MORITAKA YAMANISHI / Ohmijyofu Traditional Craftsman
Born in the city of Shiga prefecture, where the linen bedding production used
to be flourishing. After having worked as a company employee in other trade,
Yamanishi joined his family business and has also devoted himself to cultivate
weaving technique from the master traditional craft man, Minoru Onishi .
In 2009 he won the grand prize of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry
Award in the textile competition for Japan Fashion Week/the Japan Creation.
Yamanishi has officially become one of the Ohmijyofu*Traditional Craftsmen
appointed by the Minister since 2016.
He was appointed as one of creaters for "LEXUS New Takumi Projects" in 2017.
