『寂-SABI by Yoshiki Uchida x Elegant Wood』
一見するとそれは折り紙のように四隅にわずかに折り目をつけた紙のようだ。表面は削った氷のように不透明で、角に墨色あるいは桃色に色付けされている。
柔らかで軽やかな印象の作品は、実はアクリル樹脂を削り
磨き職人の技で繊細に表面を磨き、色付けしたもの。 『寂-SABI』と題した作品は内田喜基(アートディレクター/
デザイナー/アーティスト)がデザインし、Elegant Wood
(内装材製造メーカー)の加工技術を生かし多面体で繊細な
フォルムを生み出しました。無機質な素材はデザインと匠の
手仕事の技巧により、作品としての気品を感じることができます。
オブジェとして、またデザート皿等としてご愛用頂けます。
At first glance, the pieces look like square sheets of
origami paper which are folded slightly in each corner.
The surfaces of the pieces are opaque in frosty color and tinted in ink black or peach pink over one of corners.
This beautiful product is actually made of acrylic resin and polished carefully over each surface by the skilled artisan with polishing technique.
The set of pieces is named "寂 -SABI" and designed by Yoshiki Uchida(art director,/designer/artist in collaboration with Elegant Wood, a manufacturer with designed interior panels used in commercial facilities, hotels and more. Elegant Wood has had extensive experiences with high processing technologies and craftsmanship to work with the archtects and interior designers in creating and realizing the spaces.
Uchida and Elegant Wood have collaborated and paid sensitive attentions in details to make the elegant object, as a tray for sweets and as a piece
of art.
